Welcome!

Werte, Tālofa Lava, Kia Ora, Mālo and Hello!

Thank you for stopping by our website and checking us out.

So, who are we? what is this? and how do you become part of our community?

We are a family here in Mparntwe who have called this place home for 10years; our business started from the love of good food and wanting to offer that to our community, we specialise in whole foods from our own culture, vegan treats and meals + nutrition.

Our Company name is TREAT ME GOOD MPARNTWE - we are a business that is dedicated to the food space in Mparntwe Alice Springs in creating our very own business model that we see as a change maker within our community and especially in remote Central Australia. We have 4 different business streams and 'The Store House’ is our second stream we are launching both online and in a physical space on 4/14 Elder Street, Ciccone Alice Springs.

Our 4 Streams are:

Treat Me Good Mparntwe - This is our Company that we trade under for all things customer facing - Food trailer, Catering, NDIS Employment support, workshops & Community Hardship. Within these different services we offer we are launching an employment initiative that has a tailored mentoring program for young people to not only gain employment but also be closely supported to be successful long term in their roles which offer variety, traineeships & opportunities to become mentors themselves. We believe we need more Young people in customer facing roles within hospitality especially for our Indigenous young people.

We prioritise Mental health and trauma support as part of our business to allow a holistic workplace that acknowledges that all people have challenges and a story.

keep an eye out for what we bring this year especially with our food trailer that will offer more than just good feed!

The Store House - Over the years as we have been in the community amongst many families, individuals, corps & Social services we have found ourselves holding space for many. From food hardship to just have a place to come sit and maybe a friendly smile or someone to talk to we have been this place. We have travelled throughout Central Australia to Top End giving support in many forms through Covid to births, deaths, illness and just challenges where people have reached out to us and we’ve been able to offer ourselves and our space for them. If you know the Biblical significance of a “Storehouse” this is a place for creating food welfare, being prepared for changing seasons and ensuring there is enough for your village , family or community.

We are creating a Community Kitchen which is open for all and a place to be supported to learn how to cook for your family, yourself, as a group and take home meals that are nourishing and fuelling. Outside of this service it will be available for families, services, businesses, to book for private family events (celebratory / sorry business/ funerals) or holding fundraisers etc. Our goal is to have this space open by end of July 2024 as its a community space we welcome collaboration with anyone who would like to be part of this.

The 2nd purpose is for workshops and an everyday space to do craft, have a quiet space for study, meetings or just to be.

We however will primarily have this as a place of learning food security and sustainability.

In the Modern day life of convenience we are also living at the most financially critical time where getting clever is financially investing into your longterm wellness, knowledge, skills and will pay you back 10xfold (hold me to it). We will be running regular classes on preservation, fermenting vegetables for gut health, Kombucha, canning, bread making, Starter making for your bread, Bees wax wrap making and more.

This is accessible for everyone and our goal is to make simple changes that will have great impact to your life and your family.

The Store House Online store - Right here where you are! As we start to get focused on more sustainable products and kits that are convenient for starting out / making swaps in the homes we want to make sure that we try out what’s available and anything we use on our socials or in our kitchen / workshops you too have them readily available. We have found some really amazing things that we know many will find helpful and as we grow we will start adding on our very own house made range too.

This online space also gives you access to digital workshops, recipes, videos, blogs and should be added to your “Favourites” tabs :)

We are also available to you here so please utilise this space as much as possible!

Share My Lunch - This is our give back initiative and one close to our heart. We have soft launched this but aim to have this rolling throughout Mparntwe come Term 3 / 4. Share my lunch is an opportunity for businesses, companies, govt corps, councils to put their catering and food budgets to better use. We aim to offer a menu that can be ordered online and delivered to your workplace that is a lunch with purpose. For every lunch purchased you will give a lunch to a child / family in hardship.

We know there is a big need here and we took on hardship cooking with the help of individuals in the community who either donated to this financially or donated food that was able to be turned into beautiful nutritious meals to feel families, individuals, couples, new parents, those who lost loved ones. From May 2021-2023 December we have provided over 4000 meals this included 3 Community Christmas’s lunches. The recipients have been from all different backgrounds.

Collaboration & Ecosystem - Being able to co create with those who align with us is so important to the establishment of an Eco-system within the community; that means strengthening our own for true change long term.

Having a village mindset means we all have a responsibility to be accountable for where we are in the community.

Our families deserve the best, our kids need better futures that need to be worked on now not later.

Acknowledgement to country -

We are grateful to live on Arrernte Country raise our children, work and be part of the community of Mparntwe and wider communities.

We acknowledge that Arrernte people are the custodian caretakers here and hold the true knowledge, stories and future for this land and country.

We are an active ally to Aboriginal people especially Elders and leaders that continually work for their rights.

We ask that anyone we collaborate with also have these same values.

If you would like to know more, collaborate with us / see how you can contribute to our community initiative send us an email / message us on our socials.
